American artist Nirvani Harriram creates beautiful abstract paintings for a cause.

Nirvani Harriram graduated Baruch College's Zicklin School of Business with a four-year degree in marketing management in 2015. She enjoyed working in marketing and sales in both start-up and corporate environments. In 2019, she left a great job as a product specialist at a top real estate firm in Manhattan to start a new adventure.

Nirvani became a full-time artist and formed Nirvani Brown Art, LLC in early 2020, creating nirvanibrown.com in early 2021. Starting in 2022, she transitioned her business into a for-profit company that helps to raise money for organizations that fight against human trafficking. Nirvani has deep empathy for victims of violation and it motivates her to create work that can help diminish the exploitation of our society's most vulnerable members.

In her art practice, Nirvani uses bold and energetic brush strokes to express the freedom of nature. In contrast to words like "restrained" or "forced," her paintings are created to evoke feelings of hope, optimism, and energy. Her current body of work contains acrylic paint on cotton canvas. She intuitively mixes colors on a palette and uses a palette knife to apply sections of color onto the canvas. She then uses a flat brush to work the paint into different directions, figuring out composition along the way.

The artist currently lives and operates her online shop on Long Island, New York.
