This year, artist Nirvani Harriram sold five paintings and donated $84.32 to two organizations that fight against human trafficking. Nirvani made a few changes to her art practice this year, including finding her artistic voice and perspective, helping to raise funds for 501(c)(3) organizations that combat modern slavery through art sales, and adding Pinterest as a second sales channel for her business. Her recent pieces have been influenced by mid-century modern elements of geometric and organic shapes and she is currently embracing a retro but colorful painting palette. For the past few years, simple and minimalist aesthetics have been associated with beige, monochromatic schemes, and a wabi-sabi feel. Nirvani has been exploring the concept of colorful basics, allowing creativity and expression to flow but paying attention to clean lines and defined, simple shapes. The artist hopes to continue to develop her vision of building mindfulness through her still life and figure acrylic paintings in the new year.
